Introducing Ski Patrol Red

A little over a year ago, Ernie texted me a photo of an old Supreme backpack and said, “what if we made an all-red boot bag.”

Initially, I laughed. At that point, we had barely launched our new colors for the 2024–2025 season.

How in the world were we supposed to properly market an all-red boot bag?

But at Diamant, we’ve always believed that just because something feels outlandish at first doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be explored.

So we started to brainstorm.

If you haven’t noticed, all our colors have to be on theme. We don’t release a color without a backstory. Vermont Green, Twilight Blue, Bluebird Blue, and so on.

If we were going to release an all-red bag, it needed to stay true to that naming style.

Our initial idea was Christmas Red. Skiing and Christmas have always gone hand in hand, and something about Santa Claus in his bright red outfit just made sense with a red Weekend Warrior.

After a few back-and-forth texts, we figured that was good enough and we’d deal with the marketing plan later.

Nothing like kicking a crucial decision down the line.

But as the time came to start gathering content, we realized Christmas-themed photos and videos would not be easy to pull off. As we talked through the challenge with our creators, an old idea resurfaced.

During the early naming conversation, someone tossed out Ski Patrol Red. It never really stuck at first, but as discussions got more serious, it started to make a lot more sense.

First, ski patrollers are the best, and you can never thank them enough. Paying tribute to their work felt like the least we could do. Second, the concept lined up with what we were seeing. Throughout the 2024–2025 season, we noticed more and more ski patrollers grabbing our bags and telling us they used them to get around their mountains with all their gear.

But what truly sealed the deal? One of our primary photographers told us his dad is a ski patroller and could help us capture some incredible shots.

For a small startup, that’s huge.

So now, a little over a year after we first floated the idea of an all-red boot bag, we’re finally launching it.

It’s our first ever limited-edition run. We made only 100 of these, and each comes with its own limited-edition patch.

We’re thrilled to introduce Ski Patrol Red: a small tribute to the people who make skiing and snowboarding safe for all of us.
