Voyager Series: The Future is Here

Voyager Series: The Future is Here

In May of 2025, Gavin, Ernie, and I sat down on a late Tuesday night call and confirmed something we had foreseen back during the Kickstarter days.

We would slowly move away from the Diamant Skiing URL and branding in order to rename ourselves Diamant (and Diamant Gear for IG handle and URL purposes).

Not a big rebrand, but certainly a shift.

I even re-did our logo .

You see, at the time we had been in the midst of developing what you now know as the Voyager Series. Two new products that were not ski centric — a direction we'd been discussing since our initial Kickstarter and knew we'd eventually expand towards.

Anyways, we knew we'd have to start the slow rebrand, or we'd be launching new bags under a name that didn't make sense.

So we sat there and confirmed the change collectively — excited (and nervous) about the future.

At the time we didn't know that the URL change would bring with it a variety of issues that would ruin our August. But that's a story for another time.

Naturally, launching as Diamant Skiing and then coming out with two non-ski based products less than four years later may raise some eyebrows.

So, in short, here's why we’re doing it.

First and foremost — to us, this doesn't feel like a rebrand.

Since the day we started building Diamant, we knew we would expand in this direction.

I've always felt that so many bags are made in a way that's inherently wrong. They serve a singular purpose, and the moment that purpose is served, they sit in the closet idly.

The most blatant case of this was the boot bag. A bag designed in a way where there is virtually no other use case. So we created the Weekend Warrior and then the XL — two boot bags that are easily repurposed as travel bags and roller luggage respectively.

Starting with boot bags was purposeful, but it was always a precursor to more. We're always going to be rooted in skiing and ski travel (with more products coming this fall), but our purpose has always been to build gear that gives you permission to do more. The Voyager Series is just a continuation of that.

Secondly, we made this transition because of you — our customer.

For years we'd been studying your patterns. Not in a creepy way, but to make sure we actually understood who you are.

And we realized something. The people who care enough to optimize their boot bag tend to be the same people who want to optimize the rest of their day too.

You're doers. You make the most of every day — not just your ski days.

The Voyager Series is meant to extend past the mountains and into your daily life. Two bags that can go from the office to the gym to a business trip, and even across the globe on an adventure.

We want to build gear that lets you make the most of every day. Not bags that hold you back because all of a sudden you're skipping the gym, because you'd have had to carry four bags to the office and you forgot one.

Thirdly – this design just made too much sense.

I couldn't stand the fact that my regular work backpack couldn't fit the gym clothing I needed. Don't even get me started about bringing it on a trip. And when I brought my travel backpack to the office, it looked insanely out of place.

Champagne problems, of course. But gear shouldn't be so one-dimensional — your bags should move with you.

We saw that the Weekend Warrior's design wasn't just effective at carrying boots; it also looked good in an office – that duality was critical. Sure it was big, but people were emailing us constantly about how often they used it for work trips.

We took that design language and wanted to apply it to the new Voyager line, adjusting sizing and features for everyday carry and tactical travel.

It was critical to us that the bags we were developing would be able to go from the office to a literal hike (I hiked with the Voyager in Switzerland and it was perfect). This level of multi-functionality was the key to the design.

Moreover, these bags are designed to be seamlessly compatible with both the Weekend Warrior and the XL. They're the personal item companion to both.

The duffel easily swings over your shoulder for extra packing room for those weekend ski trips. The Voyager sits on top of the XL when you're trying to cram a week's worth of stuff into carry-on luggage only.

Of course, the duffel can rest on top of the XL too.

The design language translated beautifully and the two products naturally expanded our collection while fitting within it.

We were off to the races.

So that's the why behind the shift.

The URL change was the smallest part of it. The biggest part was developing products that aligned with our brand, mission, and design.

The Voyager Series does just that.

We started with boot bags because that's where the friction was loudest.

We're moving into travel bags because that's where the same thinking goes next. And there's more coming.

Same standard. Same obsession. More adventures.

See you out there.
