Weekend Warrior 2.0

Just got back from 8 days in Switzerland skiing under the matterhorn. I only took this 50L bag and a small convenience carry on and it was AWESOME!! I have two pretty intense knee braces and situated them to hug my boots in the boot compartment. I placed my toiletry bag on the top part of the boot compartment since I had extra room on top of my boots in the larger bag. The goggles were tight in the compartment but it still work and the padding was nice on top of placing my lenses in a beanie. I placed all my clothes and base layers in the larger mesh compartment on the left.

I flew British Airways there and American Airlines back. Neither airline gave me a hard time and I just had to unbuckle the helmet cradle and kinda situate it over the corner of the bag to make it fit overhead. I had it packed to the brim and little squish also got it into in the regular planes too. I had to open it at London Heathrow security and it was quick and easy.

Excited to try it locally, but this is a huge winner for international trips trying to one bag it.

I took my first weekend warrior trip last week. Flew Jet Blue Boston to Salt Lake City to ski at Alta. I wanted to really pack the bag to see if I could take everything I needed in one bag and check skis. I accomplished it but will say I really had to stuff the bag into the overhead bin which was small. It did fit so it all worked out. I packed less into the bag on return home and it slid easily into the overhead bin. The bag is great, really well designed and organized.The helmet feature takes a bit getting used to but really flexible and makes travelling with helmet possible and easy?

This is an incredible bag. It has so many pockets and places to store everything you could possible need, including the laptop space, BUT, once I had it all packed, with my ski boots and all other skiwear and travel items, it was too heavy for me to carry! I'm 60+, 120lbs, 5'3'', and we travel a lot. I carry/wheel my own luggage, carry my own skis, poles and bags, but I returned the bag because the weight on my back was too much for my shoulders/body to take. I'd rather have a wheelie bag. BUT, having said that, it's an amazing bag and if the carrying weight is not an issue, GET IT!

Well, I fell for it! The instagram ad. But having said that, it IS a great bag. I wish there was another option to use it on top of rolling luggage-like instead of a backpack, it has a strap to attach to a rolling suitcase horizontally. I am flying to ski and taking lots trains, and the bag is the right size to sit on top of a rolling suitcase, but it has no straps to wrap around the rolling suitcase extended handle. I tried using bungee cords and it was a fail. But the bag is nice, I just wish it was more versatile. Also, there is so much wasted space in the boot portion of the bag. I wrapped my wet boots in plastic shopping bags and stuffed the rest of the sides of the boot compartment.
