Article: New Ski Routes for 2025 - 2026

New Ski Routes for 2025 - 2026

New Ski Routes for 2025 - 2026

The fall breeze is upon us, and that means one thing and one thing only:

Ski season is coming.

And with a new season comes the possibility of new destinations, new resorts, and new experiences.

In our case, new airplane routes.

That’s right. Our travel-obsessed outlook at Diamant has us scouring the web to uncover the latest flight routes US airlines have cooked up to satisfy our collective thirst for powder.

And of course, it’s our sworn duty to share those routes so you can best plan your winter travel.

After all, how can we sell you a travel boot bag without giving you trips to take it on?

So without further ado, here are our favorite new routes to ski hubs for the 2025–2026 season.

1. Delta Airlines: JFK to Vail (Starts December 20, 2025, and runs through the peak winter window)

Finally, a direct Delta flight from New York to Vail. This is one of the most overdue routes in the Northeast - especially for Delta, which positions itself as a premium carrier. The only catch is that this flight is Saturdays only, which I hope changes with continued demand.

2. Delta Airlines: LaGuardia to Bozeman (Starts December 20, 2025, and runs through the peak winter window)

Sticking with Delta here. Big Sky is one of the best mountains in the country (and is getting a brand-new gondola). Increased access from one of Delta’s major hubs is a great sign of continued expansion into the lesser-explored parts of the Rockies. This is a Saturday-only route as well, but my guess is that if demand holds, it could become a mainstay to compete with JetBlue and United’s more consistent offerings.

3. JetBlue: Boston / JFK to Bozeman (Expanded service of Mint product)

This isn’t a brand-new route, but rather an expansion that’s clearly done well enough to justify more service. That’s always a good sign, especially with JetBlue leaning further into its premium Mint offering. Airlines tend to play a bit of monkey see, monkey do, so I’m hoping this helps encourage more routes from Delta, United, and American hubs into newer ski destinations.

Interesting to see American make such a strong push, especially out of Phoenix and Charlotte. A daily into Vail is no small thing.

It’s exciting to see Southern hubs adding flights to ski destinations, because all it means is this wonderful sport of ours is growing.

It’s equally exciting to see locations like Sun Valley and Big Sky start to open up to major markets. I’m sure locals will beg to differ, but it gives us air travelers a better chance to explore.

Airlines have added about 20 percent more seats to western hubs year over year since Covid. The trend doesn’t seem to be slowing, so if your dream route isn’t operating yet, there’s a good chance it’s coming.

Personally, I’d love to see someone challenge Delta in Utah so they bring their Salt Lake City prices down.

Boy, would that be nice.

Happy exploring this winter and, as always, see you on the slopes.
